Designing a digital banking app for teens is achallenging task that requires balancingsimplicity with engagement. The app mustsimplify fnancial concepts.

Opportunity

The ability to create a platform that will assist in developing financial habits from a young age can help youth improve their financial management in the future.

BACKGROUND

Our Vision

Our vision is to create an application that empowers youth and young adults to take control of their financial future from an early age. We strive to make financial education accessible in an engaging, interactive, and intuitive way, turning money management into an exciting, rather than intimidating, topic. The app will inspire a passion for learning and mastering the world of finance while maintaining an appealing design that encourages engagement. This way, teenagers will feel that they are not just learning about money but actively building their future in a smart and responsible manner.

RESEARCH

Initial Problem Discovery

Youth and young adults today lack clear and accessible financial tools to understand and manage their money responsibly. In an era where they are constantly exposed to advertising and a culture of instant consumption, it is challenging for them to develop saving habits and avoid unnecessary expenses.

They struggle to grasp the importance of long-term savings and tend to focus mainly on immediate spending, which can lead to a loss of financial control. Additionally, complex financial information is often not accessible or easy to understand for them, and existing financial apps do not always communicate in their language or offer engaging and useful experiences. This issue prevents them from developing healthy financial habits, which could significantly impact their financial future.

SYNTHESIS

User Persona

I wanted to create a user persona to embody the ideal user based on the full research process I conducted, incorporating insights from the problem discovery, user surveys, competitor analysis, and major pain points. By synthesizing the gathered data, my aim is to represent the user's preferences, pain points, and behaviors, allowing for a more focused and effective redesign for our ideal user.

SYNTHESIS

User Journey

I created a user journey to map out how Jonathan, our ideal user, would navigate his current situation, aiming to understand the highs and lows of his emotions while trying to meet with new people in person. This comprehensive visualization provides valuable insights into Jackson’s experience, enabling a targeted redesign to optimize user engagement for brands and satisfaction for users.
